hey there!

I’m Sarah

I’m the teacher and creative mind behind this little corner of the internet. I’m an elementary technology teacher, resource creator, reader, world traveler, and hockey lover!

After years in the elementary classroom, I’ve taken my love of teaching into the computer lab, where I get to help young learners build technology skills, explore their creativity, and become confident digital learners.

When I’m not teaching or creating, you can usually find me planning my next adventure, curled up with a good book, or watching a hockey game.

Whether you’re looking for a lesson idea, a new resource, or just a little teacher inspiration, I hope you find something here that makes your classroom life a little easier—and a lot more fun. I’m so glad you’re here!

my teaching journey

I have more than a decade of experience in elementary education, teaching grades 3–5 in public schools in both Virginia and Florida. I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to teach internationally, spending a year teaching first grade in Beijing, China.

While upper elementary will always hold a special place in my heart, my teaching journey has taken an exciting new turn! I’m now an elementary technology teacher in Florida, working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade. After years in the traditional classroom, I love getting to combine my passion for education with technology, creativity, and digital learning—and getting to teach students at every elementary grade level!

beyond the classroom

Since 2012, I’ve been the teacher-author behind Beyond the Gradebook on Teachers Pay Teachers. My resources are created with real classrooms in mind—often inspired by something I’ve needed or used with my own students.
In addition to creating resources for my own shop, I also work as a contracted educational content creator, developing standards-aligned learning materials for a leading educational resource platform.

My goal is to create engaging, practical, and easy-to-use resources that save teachers time while enriching instruction and helping students succeed. Everything I create is designed by a teacher, for teachers, with the realities of the classroom in mind.
